Also known as bearberry, uva ursi (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) is a creeping, low-lying shrub with evergreen leaves, clusters of pink bell-shaped flowers, and cranberry-like drupe fruits. It has been used for thousands of years by Chinese herbalists for a variety of health applications. Traditionally, uva ursi—in particular its leaves—have been used for urinary tract and kidney health as well as cardiovascular wellness.** The leave contain naturally-occurring tannins, flavonoids, enzymes, triterpenes, and the glycoside arbutin, bearberry’s main healthful nutrient.
Piping Rock’s Uva Ursi Leaf supplements deliver 960 mg of bearberry leaves in each serving. Adults take two (2) quick release capsules two to three times daily with meals for optimal nutritional support. It should be noted that uva ursi is not intended for prolonged use.
